Preventive dentistry focuses on maintaining the health of the teeth and gums.
Early detection of dental problems is critical to avoid complicated, long and costly treatments. Effective preventive dentistry combines at- home oral care and regular visits with your dentist.
At Camino Dental we understand that we play an important role in our patients' dental care. We take the time to keep out patients informed so we can become partners in their efforts to keep a healthy smile. Working as a team always gives the best results.
Regular dental visits are the best way to prevent major dental issues and keep your gums healthy. The American Dental Association recommends a minimum of two dental visits per year. During your dental checkups we remove dental plaque and stains caused by certain foods and drinks. We also perform cancer screenings of your mouth and surrounding tissues, assess you for cavities, as well as provide evaluations of the condition of your gums and existing dental work. We provide practical and honest advise that you can trust.
Dental radiographs (x-rays) are essential diagnostic tools that provide valuable information not visible to the naked eye. We use this information to safely and accurately detect hidden dental abnormalities and complete an accurate treatment plan. Without x-rays, problem areas may go undetected like cavities between teeth, infected roots, impacted teeth and other problems below the gum line.
At CAMINO DENTAL we protect our patients from unnecessary radiation.
We use DEXIS digital radiography. Digital X-Rays use up to 90 percent less radiation than conventional radiography
Dental Sealants are thin plastic coatings generally placed on the chewing surface of the back teeth of children and teens. It is recognized to be an effective, safe and painless treatment to prevent decay.
Fluoride applications help prevent tooth decay by making the tooth more resistant to acid attacks from bacteria, sugars, and plaque in your mouth. Fluoride treatments can also reverse early decay by remineralizing the enamel.
If used properly, fluoride is a safe and effective treatment for infants, children and teens when the primary and permanent teeth come in. It is also beneficial to adults that suffer from dry mouth, gum disease or have a history of frequent cavities.
